The Knights are all set to welcome the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League with a blockbuster match against the Delhi Daredevils at Eden Gardens on 3rd April 2013. The reigning champions will get the privilege of hosting the opening and closing ceremonies of this year’s tournament as well, so Kolkata will be all geared up to cheer their team on to a repeat performance of last season’s tournament! The second qualifier will also be held in Kolkata along with the grand Final, which is set to be played on 26th May 2013.
The format of the tournament will be the same as last year’s with each team playing home and away games against the other eight teams, giving each team 16 league matches. The top four teams will advance to the knockout stages of the tournament.
The Knights will play their last two home matches (against PWI and RCB) at the Jharkand State Cricket Association stadium in Ranchi.
The date of the next round of player auctions was announced today as well and it will be held on 3rd February 2013.
