India is becoming a force in grooming and developing fast bowlers across the country and one of them is Harshit Rana. Hailing from New Delhi, Rana is a right-arm fast bowler from India. He began his cricketing career by playing age-group cricket for Delhi. Right from the outset, he impressed one and all with his pace and accuracy. Before Delhi selectors could have a look at him, the KKR scouts picked him up and thus, before even making his debut at the senior level for Delhi, KKR selected him as a replacement for the injured Rasikh Salam during the 2022 IPL season.
Rana made his debut for KKR and finished with figures of 1 for 24 in his first appearance, against Delhi Capitals. Later in November 2022, Rana made his List A debut against Meghalaya during the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy and in the following month, he made his first-class debut for Delhi against Assam in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy. Rana can make full use of his height and has the ability to bowl a heavy ball. He bats in the lower order but is no mug with the bat. Despite pace bowling being his primary skill, he can be used as a hard hitter. Harshit put his batting abilities on show throughout the last domestic season and is on his way to becoming a proper fast bowling all-rounder.
On the back of an excellent domestic season, Harshit comes into the 2024 season with full of confidence and momentum on his side. The season presents an opportunity for Harshit to be one of the mainstays of KKR's pace bowling department and take the field alongside the legendary Mitchell Starc. He will be looking forward to gaining a lot more experience at the highest level and KKR will be rooting for him to make this season a big one.
