Rinku Singh - A young boy from Aligarh who dreamt big, believed in his skill, never gave up on his sport and went on to become one of the most inspiring cricketers of this generation. One can certainly say, Rinku has come a long way and has a bright future ahead after all the struggles he's had to face. Born on 12th October 1997, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rinku has established himself as a top-tier batter in the cricketing circuit and continues to impress everyone with his incredible performances.
Rinku started representing Uttar Pradesh right from the U16 age group and made a reputation for himself quite early in his career. Rinku was fast-tracked by the association considering his impressive performances, as he made his List A debut at a tender age of 16 and top-scored with 83 runs in that game. Soon after, he made his first-class debut in 2016-17 Ranji Trophy for UP and continued displaying outstanding performances throughout. In just the next season, Rinku became the highest run-scorer for UP as he amassed 803 runs in just 9 games.
After Rinku's amazing performances at the domestic level, Rinku was picked by KKR in the 2018 IPL season. He caught the eye of Abhishek Nayar, who backed Rinku right from the outset. After a few years of grooming, Rinku finally found a consistent place in the KKR XI, however he was sidelined during the 2021 season with an injury. KKR backed him despite missing a full season. Rinku came of age in 2022 after a few crucial knocks but his biggest performance came in when Rinku smashed 5 sixes in a row against GT to complete an incredible run-chase. After that, Rinku's career absolutely skyrocketed and after stunning performances throughout the season, he was rewarded an Indian team call-up as well. At the international level, Rinku displayed astonishing performances yet again and honed his skills as a finisher for Team India.
As the 2024 season inches closer, Rinku comes into the IPL after an impressive experience at the highest level and will shoulder a lot of responsibility. His role in the lower-middle order will be a crucial one for KKR. He'll be paired up with his buddy Nitish Rana yet again as both will serve as the workhorses of KKR's middle order. Another exciting chapter unfolds in Rinku's story as a new season of IPL is upon us.
